If movement is our first language, finding into your unique voice starts in the body.
Movement Sessions
Before we are even born, we are moving.
As we grow, experience, live and change, so does our movement. Finding, re-centering, and grounding into our own unique way of moving and interacting with our physical world is essential to locating where we are in our own stories and expressing our own unique voice.
As we find our own voice, we also find our unique way of interacting with self, environment, and others.
This process is always evolving and I’m excited to explore this journey alongside you.

What to Expect
People are interested in all types of movement for all different reasons. We go to personal trainers to get strong, sport coaches to hone in our team skills, and yoga to deepen a connection to tradition and breath.
My personal movement guidance is to uncover and encourage what authentic signature of movements are living inside of you so that you may find ease in interacting with yourself, your environment, and others. It is my intention to help you find ease in embodying this unique ‘movement voice’ out in the world.
During our session we will set an intention for the container (whether that is one, or many sessions), focus on an area of your story and movement you’d like to inquire more deeply about, and then spend a few hours moving through practice together.
I often leave people with practical ways they can continue to movement practice on their own and community resources to help deepen in-between sessions.

Movement Services
For the time being my movement services are offered appointment-by-appointment basis at a sliding scale rate of $50-$120 for a two hour session.
If we choose to do work together in longer-term container (anything over 3 sessions), we will co-create a payment plan and curriculum* to meet your daily life wants, needs, and intentions.
All movement services are available virtually or in person depending on your location.
*please note that if you do not know where to start and are interested in a deeper practice together, I have a core curriculum as an easeful place for us to start building!

Common Hesitation
“But what if I’m bad at moving my body?”
This is such a valuable and valid feeling and I honor this question.
There are many valid reasons to be uncomfortable being fully in your own body. I also believe the best place to start is exactly where you are.
I come from a framework that honors that we are all natural movers and dancers, even if we do nothing but ‘normal’ movements throughout our day. All movement sessions will be tailored to where you currently are with invitations to let you play with your edge of comfort in a safe way.
About Your Movement Guide
Your Guide – Dagny Deutchman
My parents and grandparents joke that I learned to dance before I could walk. Movement has and will always be my first, most comfortable language. It’s the way I am most intimate with the world.
In addition to having a performance and choreography minor in dance, and performing for several small dance companies across the years, I have over 15 years of dance and movement teaching experience. I have taught and participated in traditional movement spaces like ballet, tango, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, pole dancing, and modern, improvisation, contact improvisation, as well as non-traditional movement spaces like training young women how to navigate class IV whitewater as a whole-body experience rather than a ‘task’ or a ‘sport.’ I have experience in dance for people with disabilities and dance in outdoor containers.
Despite feeling most at home when I am dancing, I’ve also experienced long periods of injury, depression, anxiety, and self-consciousness so I also know what it feels like to have to regain a sense of trust in my own vessel and navigate my body after significant changes in its abilities.
In my particular style of movement guiding, I use movement and dance as a tool and practice to help with presence in our daily lives. I’m not telling you anything about yourself that your body doesn’t already know—I’m just helping hold up a mirror, ask some reflective questions, give a few helpful movement tools, and am glad to hold some space while you explore yourself a little more deeply. More than anything I’m a ‘translator’ to help guide you through nuanced conversations between you and your body and how this body has larger conversations with the world.
